MAISON CASTEL GRANDE RESERVE VIOGNIER 2022

Originally from the northern Rhône Valley, this almost extinct grape variety flourishes perfectly in the Pays d'Oc terroirs. The Mediterranean climate, sunshine and dry, stony soils allow it to develop delicate aromas. It produces top-quality wines that are both supple and highly aromatic.

For its Viognier Grande Réserve, Maison Castel has selected the best plots in three departments of the Pays d'Oc Protected Geographical Indication: the Hérault and the semi-slopes of the Villafranchian terraces, for complexity and depth; the Gard and its clay-gravel soils, whose early ripening brings power and richness; and finally the Aude, a later ripening clay-limestone terroir that brings tension and freshness.

Maison Castel observes, analyses and tastes the grapes from each plot on an almost daily basis to determine the best harvest date.
