CHATEAU LAVILLE BERTROU MINERVOIS LA LIVINIERE
Features
The plots of Château Laville Bertrou are located on an exceptional terroir within the high-quality Minervois-la-Livinière appellation. Acquired by Gérard Bertrand in 1997, this exceptional terroir produces powerful, distinctive wines, just like the great wines of the Languedoc. Benefiting from a semi-arid Mediterranean climate with temperate winters, the vines face due south on the heights of the village of La Livinière, at an altitude of around 120 metres. The soil consists of a mosaic of stripped marl, combined with calcareous sandstone and compact limestone dating from the Eocene (Tertiary era). This type of terroir naturally limits the production of each vine. The deep roots of the vines enable them to withstand low rainfall and water stress. The high level of sunshine encourages the grapes to ripen slowly.
