BOLLINGER SPECIAL CUVEE
Features
Founded in 1829, the prestigious Maison Bollinger was born from the association of 3 men: Athanase Louis Emmanuel Hennequin - Count of Villermont -, Jacques Joseph Bollinger and Paul Renaudin. The name 'Special Cuvée' of Maison Bollinger has existed since 1911. Terroir: Located in Aÿ, the converging point of the 3 regions of the Champagne terroir (the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs), this estate of 160 hectares rests on clay-limestone soils, gravel and chalk. Viticulture: The vineyard covers 2/3 of its grape needs. Concerned about the environment, Maison Bollinger is the very first house to obtain the new 'Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne' certification in 2014. Vinification: the 'Spécial Cuvée' is lightly dosed and aged in the cellar for a minimum of 3 years. This aging, much longer than required by the rules of the appellation, allows the aromas to fully develop.
