CHATEAU D'EPIRE GRAND CRU D'ANJOU
Features
Located on the heights of Epiré, Château d’Epiré has been passed down from father to son since 1882. It is the oldest family estate in the Savennières appellation. The vineyard of around twelve hectares is located on the highest slopes of the Savennières appellation, in the village of Epiré. The vines are cultivated in ideal conditions: overlooking the Loire, the vineyard takes full advantage of the South East exposure on schist terroir. The wines are aged on lees, in small stainless steel vats. The cellar is ideally located in a charming 12th century Roman church which was transformed into a cellar in 1906. This church is an ideal place for wine where the temperature and humidity are naturally controlled at any time of the year thanks to the nice thickness of the walls.
