Cantina Tollo is an agricultural cooperative society founded in 1960, which currently has 840 members and 3,100 hectares cultivated. Terroir: The production areas are spread across the municipalities of Tollo, Ortona, Canosa Sannita and Orsogna (Chieti). The soils are limestone and clay, located at an altitude of 130m and facing south-east. Viticulture: The vines are grown in Abruzzo pergolas with a planting density of 1,600 vines/ha. This wine is made from organically grown grapes. Vinification: The grapes are harvested in mid-October, followed by maceration of the skins at a controlled temperature of 25°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in vitrified cement vats.
